Even Dozen Study Club
Organization
Biography
: The Even Dozen Study Club was founded in 1912 in Jesup, Iowa and recognized by the Iowa Federation of Women’s Clubs in 1916. The club is so named because it has twelve members at any time, though there have occasionally been honorary members, bringing the count over twelve. The Even Dozen Study Club met regularly to discuss books, work towards charitable causes, and socialize. The club combined these interests in their efforts to create and support a library in Jesup, which was established in 1915.
