Scope and Contents

This exhibition for action/artworks that consisted of artists' instructions realized by the participating museums, was curated by Hans-Ulrich Obrist. "Do It" is not concerned with copies, images or reproductions of artworks, but with human interpretation. No artworks are shipped to the venues, instead everyday actions and materials serve as the starting point for the artworks to be recreated at each performance site according to the artists's written instructions. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.

Scope and Contents

One of the plastic cases contains a videotape of Ferrando's poetic performances. The other contains 1) two booklets entitled, Escrits and Dades, and 2) a collection of cards printed in color that illustrate his poem and book objects, one to a card. Joan Brossa and Julien Blaine contribute tributes to Ferrando in "Escrits" as sound poems. "Dades" consists of a listing of Ferrando's artistic and poetic activities. One of the objects illustrated in the collection of cards, "Lletra Coixa," is held by the Sackner Archive. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
