[Untitled] / Etheredge IV, Lee ; Richard F., 2003
Frances Richard contributed an essay to the catalogue, "The warmth of language/ the chill of type," in which she points that Etheredge's work is highly influenced by his scientific background (B.A. in zoology and M.D. degrees). She notes that he uses an IBM wheelwriter typewriter and chooses arrays of letters for their ink-density or curvilinear shape to determine the images. The Sackners purchased two works depicted in this catalogue, viz., "Breath," a typewriter piece and "Oblique," a calligraphic drawing. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
