Francois Woimant who contributed an essay writes, "...The French National Library's Cabinet des Estampes contains one of the largest public collections of artists' books in the world, second only in size to that held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. ... today totals approximately 4000 works." Auction catalogue. The collection of Albert Spindler was outstanding in holdings of fine press books but also held several European assemblings of the 70's to 80's, notably "Anschlag" published in Leipzig.
