The main text was selected from Beatrice Warde's 1951 essay, "The Design of Books." The subtext was taken from Bradbury Thompson's 1945 essay in "Westvaco Inspirations." Warde's text on the lack of reading is interpreted in a set of 8 books with each book designed as a typographic reaction to Thompson's monoalphabet and alphabet 26 type experiments. The Elvis Presley Scrapbook by Joni Mabe was lent to the exhibition by the Sackner Archive.
