The text is an ancient Aztec song describing the Tlacuilos painters. Printed in letterpress on Mexican bark paper, the illustrations are from the codex Borgia. Dedicated to Genis' father, an Aztec artist, who died in 1980. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.

Scope and Contents Internet: Gina Genis is a graduate of Parsons School of Design in N.Y., and Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, L.A. She leads the Gina Genis Photography Workshops where she shares the secret techniques of the pros with students from all over the country. She also teaches online photography courses through The Compelling Image. Gina has had her photography featured on CNN, CBS, NBC, and numerous television stations across the US. She regularly exhibits her work in museums and galleries across the U.S. She curated "Wide Angle View", an exhibit of 16 international award-winning photojournalists at the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art, and finished six weeks as an Artist-In-Residence at the Huntington Beach Art Center in 2011. She is included in the permanent collections of the Sackner Archive of Concrete and Visual Poetry, the Otto G. Scope and Contents

The pages in this book depict abstract patterns made by applying black, gold and silver pigment with a fingerprinting technique to the pages. Interspersed among these fingerprints, Genis has drawn untranslatable, repetitive hieroglyphs and abstract markings. Four pages depict photocopies of the fingerprints that have been progressively enlarged with the xerox process. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
