Biography
Jennifer Konfrst was born in 1970 in Macomb, Illinois. She attended high school in Johnston, Iowa and graduated from Drake University, going on to work for Iowa PBS and to teach journalism at Drake. A Democrat, she has represented parts of the Des Moines area in the Iowa House since 2019, serving District 43 from 2019-2023 and District 32 beginning in 2023. In 2021, Konfrst became the minority leader in the Iowa House, the first woman to be elected to that role.
