Biography

Jo Oldson was born in 1956 in Eagle Grove. After earning a bachelors degree and a J.D. from Drake, she worked as an advisor to Governor Tom Vilsack and as the first deputy to the Iowa insurance commissioner. A Democrat, Oldson represented parts of the Des Moines area in the Iowa House for 20 years, serving District 61 from 2003-2013 and District 41 from 2013-2023.
