Biography
Kirsten Running-Marquardt was born in 1977 in Cedar Rapids. She attended Kirkwood Community College and the University of Iowa, earning bachelors and masters degrees in political science and public policy. In 2009, Running-Marquardt won a special election for Iowa House District 33 and won. A Democrat, she represented parts of the Cedar Rapids area, serving District 33 from 2009-2013 and District 69 from 2013-2023. In 2022, Running-Marquardt announced she would not seek re-election to the House and instead sought and won a seat on the Linn County Board of Supervisors.
