Biography
Sarah Trone Garriott was born in Minneapolis in 1978. After earning degrees from the College of Scholastica, Harvard Divinity School, and Lutheran School of Theology, she worked as a chaplain and pastor before becoming the director of interfaith engagement for the Des Moines Area Religious Council. In 2020, Trone Garriott ran for the Iowa Senate as a Democrat and won, representing parts of the West Des Moines and Waukee areas (District 22 from 2021-2023 and District 14 beginning in 2023).
