Biography

Jim Lykam was born in Davenport, Iowa in 1949. He graduated from West High School and Palmer Junior College in Davenport. From 1989-1991, Lykam represented parts of the Davenport area in the Iowa House of Representatives. He was elected to the House again in 2003 and served until 2017, again representing districts in the Davenport area. In 2017 he won a special election to fill the seat of Senator Joe Seng, who passed away in 2016. He was reelected to represent District 45 (parts of Davenport) in 2021.
