Biography

Tyler Solon Williams is a researcher and higher-education instructor with a research interests in animation and the television cartoon, media theory and media history, film and comparative media studies, and American media culture. He received a PhD in Communication Studies in 2021 from the University of Iowa. Understanding the Early Television Cartoon, his dissertation, "proposes a theoretical model explaining how animation was made for television in the early years of the medium."As of 2024 he is a Faculty Lecturer of Media Studies at the University of Virginia.
