Biography

Francis Hamit is an American author who's written for a variety of publications in the forms of articles, reviews, essays, and columns. The amount he’s written for these journals is over 1,000 pieces in total. He’s written for a variety of magazines and the Encyclopedia Britannica. His other authored works feature journalism, marketing and business methods, screenwriting, drama, and fiction that mainly center individuals in the military, intelligence, and similar occupations. He’s a member of the Historical Novel Society, the Association of Intelligence Officers, and the Military Writers Society of America. He’s the co-owner of Brass Cannon Books. Hamit served in the US Army Security Agency for 4 years in Vietnam and Germany and spent 21 years total working in Security. He earned his MFA in fiction from the Iowa Writers Workshop here at the University of Iowa in 1976.
