Biography
Nancy Jackson Seiberling was born in 1917 to Rebecca and Alton Jackson in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1939, she moved to Toledo, Ohio, and in 1941, married Frank Seiberling, Jr.
In 1959, the family moved from Toledo to Iowa City. Seiberling worked alongside Gretchen Harshbarger to found Project GREEN, a community initiative focused on city planning and beautifying Iowa City. She also helped create the Johnson County Heritage Trust, which promoted healthy land management and protected certain environmental areas from development.
