Biography

Janet Carl was born February 24, 1948 in Atlantic, Iowa. She graduated from the University of Iowa and worked as an administrator and writing instructor at Grinnell College. In 1981, she was elected as a Democrat to the Iowa House, representing District 71 (parts of Poweshiek, Iowa, Benton, and Tama counties) from 1981-1983 and District 53 (Poweshiek and parts of Iowa counties) from 1983-1987.
