Biography

Karla Miller and her partner, Jean Bott, were active members of the Iowa City feminist and lesbian community in the 1970s and 1980s. Miller, a musician and graduate of the University of Iowa, was particularly dedicated to the work of the Rape Victims Advocacy Program in Iowa City, serving as its Director and Executive Director in the 1990s and early 2000s. She was also a founding member of the Iowa Coalition Against Sexual Assault. Jean Bott has worked as an accountant and tax preparer in the Iowa City area.
