Scope and Contents

Depicts one of the self-portaits by Van Gogh but instead of impasto to create the image, Dupont uses different colored letters of the alphabet and overprints some sections. This is the same image on Dupont's exhibition announcement for Galerie Ariane Bomsel 1990. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.

The texts were found by Dupont from art and philosophical writings and fragmented selections were painted by the artist. The work is a palimpset containing visual symbols, rebuses and text.
