Scope and Contents

The first stanza of the poem that reads "The canoe of life is shattered..." is taken from Mayakovsky's suicide note. The second stanza that reads "The windblown willow's leaves hide the path" is a caption to the drawing of leaves on the cover of the folder. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
