The Sackner Archive lent several works of the three artist-poets to the exhibition including Cleveland Prints, The North American Book of the Dead, Scarab Poems by d.a. levy; The Journal of Albion Moonlight, Cloth of the Tempest, Sleepers Awake by Kenneth Patchen; 18th Dynasty Egyptian Turnon by D.r. Wagner. Although there was no check list with the catalogue, the superb installation photographs of the books and prints in cases more than make up for this oversight. The suite of collages entitled Zen Concrete on display at this exhibition were purchased by the Sackners from Ingrid Swanberg in 2008. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.

The booklet is formed from three poems: "Black Hat : At the End of the Bar,"3 American Tanka"/"3 Tanks," and "Egyptian Stroboscope." Though they do not appear in the table of contents, four other shorter poems are mingled throughout: "Iron Cross of the Sun," "SCrape the SKY-rapeR,"Flying Muslim," and "Judgement I."

Most of the copies of the first printing in an edition of 108 copies were confiscated by the Cleveland Police in the notorious raid of Jim Lowell's book store in 1966. The second printing by grass coin publishing in 1967 had a different cover, a modified title page & did not contain an index section. This third posthumous printing presented here is a reproduction of the original, the unique page from the second edition as well as the original manuscript pages. Most of the copies of the first printing were confiscated by the Cleveland Police in the notorious raid of Jim Lowell's book store in 1966. This second printing is "lightly revised."
