Scope and Contents

This exhibition was curated by Kate Rawlinson and Wallace Harper with works from the Sackner Archive. It was structured into four groups of visual/verbal works: ideograms, alphabets, words and stories. The letter on the verso of this photograph indicates that two of Chopin's items can be discounted. Also, Furnival mentions that Mike Weaver was upset with Edwin Morgan for not giving him more credit for his "image" article in a talk that he gave. The cover depicts a detail of a portrait of Houedard by John Furnival. The exhibition catalogue lists 50 works by Houedard including eight plastic laminate poems. The introductory essay was written by Guy Brett. Scope and Contents
