The Bruno Torres Papers document the career and personal life of Bruno Robert Torres, a photojournalist and Iowa alum active from 1960 to 2004.

The bulk of the collection consists of photographs taken by Torres, covering significant historical events such as civil rights demonstrations, national and international political campaigns, sporting events, and local tragedies. Notable events include the Wounded Knee Massacre of 1973, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s funeral, the Selma-Montgomery and Memphis-Jackson marches, Muhammad Ali's boxing matches, John F. Kennedy's assasination, Pope John-Paul trips to the U.S., the Daniel Ortega–Violeta Chamorro presidential election in Nicaragua, various Olympic Games, and the 1978 World Cup. Sports teams covered by Torres include the Chicago Cubs and White Sox, the Chicago Bulls, the Houston Rockets, the Houston Astros, and the Houston Oilers.
