Biographical / Historical
Mary Arlene Hale was the author of more than 100 books under various pseudonyms including Arlene Hale, Gail Everett, Louise Christopher, and Lynn Williams. Born in 1924, she grew up in New London, IA. Worked for the Iowa-Illinois Telephone Company and on a factory assembly line during WWII. She began writing poetry and wrote her first book in 1948, later becoming a full-time novelist in 1954. Passed in 1982 to cancer.
