A thorough and very well-organized manuscript cookbook with more than 350 recipes in a handsome and neat hand. Text on the free front endpaper states "Theresia Schneider, Blochingen" in the same hand as the rest of the book. Below this is the date "1869" in pencil. The recipes proceed from broths and soups through fish and stews, fried foods, salads and more. Sweets include cakes, tarts, creams and jellies, and a short drink section rounds it off. A few pages bear random pencil scribbles of a child and there is some soiling to the endpapers.
