Scope and Contents
A small collection of materials relating to Denver-based color xerography artist and photographer R. Skip Kohloff. The "personal" series contains Kohloff's resume, thesis excerpt, and artist's statement, as well as gifts and cards from illustrator Al Kilgore. The "artwork and professional work" series contains Kohloff's prototypes, exhibit materials, comics work, and miscellanious art pieces.

Biographical / Historical
R. Skip Kohloff (b.1941) was a color xerography artist and photographer based out of Denver, Colorado. He and his spouse, Lisbeth Neergaard Kohloff (an educator and art historian), were heavily involved in the arts community in Denver. They vounteered together at the Colorado Photographic Arts Center (CPAC) and served on its Board of Directors. Kohloff additionally served as CPAC president from 1986-2004. In 2006, CPAC celebrated Kohloff's life work with “Déjà-View; A Retrospective Exhibition” (curated by John Grant).
Kohloff received his MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in 1977, where he also briefly taught. His work has been shown at CPAC, the Denver Art Museum, University of Denver, The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, and RIT. He taught at Cherry Creek High School in Englewood, Colorado for over two decades, serving as both instructor and mentor. He passed of illness in 2020 and is survived by his spouse, Lisbeth.
