Roberts, as a busy editor and General Secretary of the Authors Society for more than thirty years, had contact with many of the literary persons of his time, and this collection is made up of some of this correspondence. A notable part of this collection is a draft of Roberts' recollections of some of the authors, in particular Somerset Maugham, J.M. Barrie, and H.G. Wells. His correspondence with Goeffrey Grigson regarding The Year's Poetry 1937 has been kept in a folder under the title of the book.
