Scope and Contents
The Isabel Greenberg Alt family papers measure 2.5 inches and date from 1917 to 1975. The contents are arranged into one series, Biographical.
The Biographical series contains documents related to Joseph Greenberg, Isabel Greenberg Alt’s father, and his business in Algona, Greenberg Auto Supply. It also includes of one script of a 1926 comedy called “Applesauce,” a newspaper clipping about Alt’s civic engagement in the Des Moines area, and her 1983 obituary in the Des Moines Register.
In addition, the collection contains several photographs of Isabel Greenberg Alt and her extended family from the time of her birth until 1975. The series includes photographs of Isabel Greenberg Alt’s daughter, Marilyn; sister-in-law, Dorothy Greenberg; mother, Sonya Stein Greenberg; and grandmother, Yetta Oberman Stein.
One Sigma Delta Tau sorority pin that belonged to Isabel Greenberg Alt and Dorothy Greenberg completes the collection.
