Scope and Contents
The Hedwig Schmidt papers date from 1961 to 2015 and measure 2.5 linear inches. The papers are arranged in two series: Biographical and Diaries.
The Biographical series (1998-2015) contains an obituary for Schmidt from the Strawberry Point, Iowa, Press-Journal and biographical information provided by her daughter and the donor, Dorothy Stocks, at the time of accession.
The Diaries series (1961-1990) includes six Five-Year Diaries detailing her daily life in rural Strawberry Point. Diary entries contain notes on the weather, various appointments and projects, visits to the farm and trips to town.
