Scope and Contents
The University of Iowa Women's Athletics records contains budget and record keeping materials from 1979-2001, women's basketball materials from 1985-2005, and task force records from the 2000 merger of the men's and women's athletic departments. They measure 6.25 linear feet and arranged into four series: Budget, Basketball, Task force records, and Events
The Budget series (1979-2001) contains documents related to the financial activities and records of the Department of Women's Athletics. Materials include ticket reports, budget documents, and other accounting records.
The Basketball series (1985-2005) contains programs and a team poster, documents from a 1990 Friendshop Tour, and photographs and tournament pins from the NCAA women's basketball midwest tournament hosted by the University of Iowa in 1993, an event titled "Hoops in the Heartland."
The Task Force Records series (1989-2007) contains materials related to the merging of the men's and women's athletic departments. Documents include correspondence between task force members, University staff, and the Board in Control of Athletics, as well as meeting minutes and strategic plans collected around the 2000 merger.
The Events series (2007) contains materials related to the recognition and celebration of Christine Grant's achievements as women's athletics director at Iowa.
