The Karen Kanke James papers date from 1952 to 2018 and measure 2.5 linear inches (1 box). The papers are arranged in four series: Scrapbook, Booklets, Audiovisual, and Artifact.

The Scrapbook series (1962) includes twenty-two pages of a disbound scrapbook and four booklets, all involving the 1962 girls’ basketball state championship.

The Booklets series (1962) contains with four booklets from the 1962 girls’ basketball state championship and the Van Horne team’s subsequent win.

The Audio Visual series (1952-2018) contains one CD with a variety of personal, academic, and extracurricular photographs of Kanke and three DVDs with highlights and newspaper clippings from the 1962 girls’ basketball state championship. There is a file list included in the CD and as a print out.

The Artifact series (1962) consists of Kanke’s letter jacket letters, VH in orange and black, the Van Horne school colors.
