The ALT Films records date from 1981 to 2002 and measure 4.17 linear feet across eleven boxes. The records are arranged in seven series: The American Collection, Cora Unashamed, The Song of the Lark, The Ponder Heart, A Death in the Family, Almost a Woman, and Production Binders. The bulk of the collection deals with production documentation and script libraries from the five movies produced by ALT Films. The American Collection series contains copies of the books the films were based on and internal documents related to the schedule of film releases. The Cora Unashamed series contains a script library of various drafts and revisions, production documentation such as maps and schedules, and post-production materials such as reviews and publicity for the film. The Song of the Lark, The Ponder Heart, A Death in the Family, and Almost a Woman series contain script libraries for each of their respective films. The Production Binders series contains five binders with information from the film’s production such as scripts, outlines, budgets, shooting schedules, and photographs, and post-production materials such as student screening responses and reviews from festivals and media outlets.
