Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The Suzi Kaiman papers date 1907 to 2009 and measure 2.5 linear feet (6 boxes). The papers are arranged in six series, Biographical, Correspondence, Photographs, Yearbooks, Artifacts, and Audio Visual.

The Biographical series (1950-2008) has papers related to Kaiman’s activities in various organizations with newsletters from the Conservative Jewish Women’s League, the Jewish Federation, and Shaare Zion.

The Correspondence series (1940-1986) contains letters and invitations from friends and family.

The Photographs series (1907-2009) consists of pictures from a wide range of time, the majority of which are photos of family members and family gatherings.

The Yearbooks series (1927-1959) includes five yearbooks from Sioux City Central High School as well as one each from the University of Iowa, University of Illinois, and Smith College.

The Artifacts series (1921-c.1980) contains a Boys Club award inscribed to Harold Goldstein, along with Girl Scout patches, a poster, a Jewish ritual booklet, and a framed family portrait.

The Audio Visual series (1996) consists of three cassette tapes titled “Your Life on Tape” that feature Harold Goldstein in a six part series.
