Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The Elizabeth "Bettye" Crawford Tate papers date from 1932 to 1999 and measure 11 linear inches. The collection consists primarily of photographs of Tate and her family members, correspondence, and event programs. There is a small amount of material documenting the Tate Arms boarding house. The newspaper clippings provide a biographical overview of Tate's life and work.

The Photo Boards series contains two sets of posterboards with collages of photos and other materials telling the story of Tate's life. One set was prepared for Tate's 90th birthday and the other for her memorial service after she passed away.
