Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The Central Iowa Family Planning records date from 1971 to 2016 and measure 2 linear feet in 4 boxes. The records are arranged in four series: Administration, Publicity, Sex Education, and Artifacts.

The Administration series (1971-1994) is composed of organizational forms, ledgers, and board meeting minutes.

The Publicity series (1971-2016) is made up of newspaper clippings containing articles about the clinic’s foundation and services, as well as brochures and photographs of clinic staff and patrons.

The Sex Education series (1976-2015) includes educational reports and fact sheets from outside organizations, as well as materials from sex education programs held by Central Iowa Family Planning.

The Artifacts series contains a variety of items once used by Central Iowa Family Planning as part of their educational and health care services, including oral contraceptive pills and containers, diaphragms, pregnancy tests, and cavity rim cervical caps.
