Biographical / Historical
Iowa Democrat and congressional candidate E. Joyce Schulte was born in 1943 and raised on a Missouri farm. She had two sons and, after her husband's death, completed bachelor's and master's degrees in education from the University of Missouri - Columbia. She served as the director of student support services for Southwestern Community College in Creston and on the board of the Iowa Agriculutral Development Authority. In 2004 and 2006 she ran against incumbent Steve King in Iowa's fifth congressional district. --Christina Jensen, 2014.
