Ain't I a Woman? was a feminist newspaper published roughly biweekly from 1970-1974. It was originally created by the publishing cell (or committee) of the Women's Liberation Front (WLF), a radical feminist collective operating in Iowa City, whose organizing also gave rise to the Women's Resource and Action Center at the University of Iowa. Further underscoring the connections between the WLF and the UI, the paper's original mailing address was the Action Studies Program office in the Jefferson Building. The Action Studies Program offered courses in women's studies, Black studies, and human rights topics, and had been organized in response to calls from students and faculty for more freedom and flexibility in setting curricula.

Ain't I a Woman? was originally sold for 25 cents and was named for the iconic quotation attributed to Sojourner Truth during her speech at the 1851 Women's Rights Convention in Akron, Ohio. In November 1971, the paper attempted to publish several pages of information on menstrual extraction, but were unable to find a printer willing to accommodate them. This issue sparked the formation of the Iowa City Women's Press, which would continue operating until 1985.

The paper stopped publishing in 1974; its final regular issue was on the topic of childcare and was considered by some to be controversial. This publication occurred amidst a broader conflict around collective childcare projects that were organized by the broader Iowa City feminist movement.
