Scope and Contents

The Jean Hagen papers date from 1972 to 1981 and measure 2.5 linear inches. The papers are arranged in one series, Publications. Biographical / Historical

Jean Hagen lived in Iowa City and was active in the Iowa Socialist Party and the Socialist Party USA from 1978 to the late 1990s. She was often responsible for recording minutes at local and state Socialist Party meetings. She closely followed the actions of the national Socialist Party and contributed money to the McReynolds-Drufenbrock Socialist Presidential campaign in 1980. Hagen was also active in the AIDS Coalition of Johnson County, Iowa, 1988-1992.
