Scope and Contents
The collection contains a single cookbook. To compile the cookbook, club members solicited recipes from high-profile women in the National Democratic Party, including Minnette Doderer, Jacqueline Kennedy, Joan Bennett Kennedy, Ethel Kennedy, and Lady Bird Johnson, among others. Community members also contributed recipes. The sections of the cookbook are: Salads; Vegetables; Main Dishes; Bread & Rolls; Cake & Cookies; Pie & Pudding; Salad Dressing, Meat Sauces, Preserves; and Low-Fat Foods. The cookbook also contains several pages of local advertisements. The club president, Gertrude MacQueen (Mrs. J. C. MacQueen), notes in her introduction that the club thanks K. K.
