The Maranda Cline papers date from 1891 to 1907 and measure .25 linear inches. They are housed in the Small Collections Vertical File. The papers consist of a transcibed diary that was found in 1975 by Maranda Clines' great-grandson, Pat Kinney Lorentzen. The diary includes brief daily entries describing family life near Hills, Iowa from 1891 to 1907 and is 197 pages.

Biographical / Historical

Maranda Jenevieve Cline (1833-1907) lived in Hills, Iowa in the 1890s and 1900s and documented her families' daily life in a diary. Her daily tasks included milling flour, chopping wood, fetching cattle, selling turkeys, and attending church. She writes in short scentences and provides little context. The diary was transcibed in 1975.
