Scope and Contents
The overall image depicts the artist's interpretation of a character cited in Dante's Purgatory. Pasiphae was the queen of Crete and Minosse's wife. She had a son who was the monster Minotaur, half man and half bull. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
