Scope and Contents
This seventy-fourth page is titled "Dante in Basel". The main section of the page contains fragments of Phillips' print of Dante in his study, a collaged picture from the screen TV Dante and an anouncement for the 40th King's Lynn Festival of Music & the Arts where Phillips will be giving a lecture. Phillips writes on the right hand side of the page "To Basel to buy Lucy some chocolates and to give a lecture at the Kunst Halle where I showed sixteen years ago." This is likely the exhibitiion in 1979 where the Sackners first saw the work of Phillips, including the original Humument pages on display.Concerning the production of TV Dante, Phillips writes that he is "concerned about Sir John. I have a kind of internal ultimatum only partially communicated to others that the deadline for action must be a month from the transmission of the episodes.Talked to Charles Levison and he says that Virgin will possibly back the recording of Sir John and Bob Peck so I must get a budget together. All the excellent reviews we have received plus the nice letters etc. make it more ironic that nothing seems to be underway." -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
