The review for the film shown on SBS was written by Kleu and is extremely positive with a fine synopsis of the plot. Kleu writes "This is, quite simply, the most stunningly vibrant use of television I've ever seen....This production is a television triumph, pushing the medium to the limit. Sadly, only eight cantos were filmed, of 34. But bravo SBS." On the upper right hand side of the page Phillips writes "Now (July XCI) there are new rumblings. First from Ken Thompson saying that A TV Dante is Ch 4's Italia Prize entry..."
