Scope and Contents

This is an unfavorable review of Tom Phillips' exhibition at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford England. The Sackners attended this exhibition entitled "A micro-retrospective." The critic found fault with the artistic merits of A Humument "...the abstract designs do not particularly excite us, the combination of colours do not strike as particularly inspired, the philosophical tags strike us as just a mite pretentious." The critic writes favorably about Phillips portrait paintings not shown in this exhibition. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
