Scope and Contents

A foreword by Burroughs describes his technique of folding cut and rearranged portions of existing text to create a new, composite text. Further, this juxtaposition creates new combinations of word and image. Tom Phillips was influenced by Burroughs' methods in creating his own visual poetic book, "A Humument." -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
