The woodcuts depict owls posing as humans, often reading or holding books. Each pillow depicts a monthly calendar for 2004 along with a graphic design image from a well-known graphic designer. The work was presented to the Sackners as a gift from students, designers and faculty of the NWS of the Arts in Miami. A photograph of Barbara Wilson sitting amongst her pillows on a sofa is stored within an artist's correspondence looseleaf notebook in the Sackner study. The October pillow picturing Piet Zwart was selected for the opening exhibition at the Miami-Dade Library in Miami Beach. -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
