The theme, "meca-esthetic" means the field of all the instruments of art in general and painting in particular such as canvas, brushes, tubes, etc. and for engraving the paper, the colors, etc. The bookbinding made by Dupont was made to illustrate this theme as well as the etchings in which the possibilities of "meca-esthetique" by way of manipulating, cutting, handcoloring, collaging, etc. the surface, the edge, or the depth of each etching.
