Scope and Contents WEB page: Until 1960 Paolini trained as a set-designer and graphic designer, then he had a preoccupation with art and collages in order to analyze artistic means as well as to examine linguistic systems. The first documented work, Geometric Design, stems from 1960. Since 1965 Paolini has picked art and the history of art and their possibilities of conveying message as a central theme. In 1964 his first individual exhibition took place in the Galleria La Salita in Rome, since then he has been represented in numerous individual and group exhibitions in Italy and other countries. In 1967 he was a participant of the first exhibition of Arte Povera in the Galleria Bertesca in Genova and he took part, inter alia, in several Documenta-exhibitions in Kassel as well as in the Biennale di Venezia in 1970 and 1997. Paolini is concentrated on the phenomenon of seeing, touching themes such as space, time, perspective or the cultural conditioning of author and observer. In 1970 he started to...

This tour de force of bookmaking, printing and neo-dada texts is the final production of Walter Hamady in this series. This volume is described by him as "The last Gabberjabb number eight and IX/XViths of aleatory annexations of odd bondings or fortuitous encounters with incompatible realities or love, anguish, wonder; and engagement or a partial timeline of sorts or bait and switch or finally, a pedagogical rememberance." Scope and Contents This tour de force of bookmaking, printing and neo-dada texts has different covers for each book in the run of 125 copies. Different old maps are collaged onto the covers and some books have a spine image printed on the book spine (not the Sackner copy). The media description of the pages is taken directly from Hamady's description that is printed on a leaflet of an accompanying advertisement for the book. The book includes a letter picture that incorporates varied ornaments and devices around the number '7' as well as several other pages depicting other typographic ornamaments and devices. This work was exhibited at the Agnes Scott College Gallery, Atlanta, January 2001.Reprints dada-like modifications of notes on typography and bookmaking from other sources in a wide variety of typefaces and sizes.
