The catalogue notes that the Sackner Archive carefully charts the ten year period of Russian Avant Garde art "during which poets and artists worked so closely together...Whilst the following 6 lots represent only a handful of the fine works in the Sackner Collection, they nevertheless record the artistic progress of Russia during this critical ten year period. Purchased at auction and from private dealers, they clearly have been chosen with an eye for beauty and with great connoisseurship by enthusiasts who truly appreciate this important period in the development of European art." -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.
