From a large center figure the shape of a man's head emerges from the interior space created by the surrounding typescripts. Two smaller clusters of type create oval blank spaces.Charles Cameron wrote, "brilliant concrete self-portrait signed dsh done for me & given to me, dated 1964, featuring his head & shoulders as a blank space surrounded by the words "supercool nothing behind my innermost mask" - sylvester was a published authority on zen and frieind of the beats! - with lettra 22 roller / blue carbon effects in background, slight tear & fold, slightly aged, to my mind the finest of his concrete works I've ever seen, both self-portrait and masterpiece". -- Source of annotation: Marvin or Ruth Sackner.

Scope and Contents Karl Kempton dedicated his 12 typoglifs in this volume to the poet-author Abd al-Hayy Moore, "bringing together sacred visual expression from around the world and wedding it to like-minded expression of the Native American Peoples, primarily of the Southwest and Central Coast of California." This book is stored in Lempton's box.Internet: Moore was born in 1940 in Oakland, California, his first book of poems, Dawn Visions, was published by Lawrence Ferlinghetti of City Lights Books, San Francisco, in 1964. In 1972 his second book, Burnt Heart, Ode to the War Dead, was also published by City Lights. He was the winner of the Ina Coolbrith Award for poetry and the James D. Scope and Contents This typing depicts three rectangles formed with red, joined underline marks. The inner portions of the rectangles contain scattered period marks. The image is framed with joined 'at' (@) marks. This work was exhibited in Force Fields: phrases of the kinetic held at the Museum of Contemporary Art Barcelona in 1999 and the Hayward Gallery London in 2000. The work was selected by the Curator, Guy Brett. Internet: The Svayambhu Linga (typed in lower right corner) are temples that contain representations of Shiva that are believed to have risen up by themselves in the primordial past.
