This book reviews international small press publications of alternative art with emphasis on visual/verbal imagery from 1968-1988. The bibliography includes a listing of the Sackner Archive catalogue and is divided into 1) art/poetry movements, e.g. Fluxus, Conceptual Art, Concrete and Visual Poetry, Mail Art, Artistic Rubberstamps, Xerox Art, etc. as well as 2) listing periodicals by alphabetical order and country of publication. Perneczky also lists Art Archives holding such materials. The curator, Raphael Tous, was also the collector of the books on display. Ulises Carrion, Guy Schraenen and Jose Luis Mata contributed introductory essays about artist books. It included approximately 1000 books. Several pages have been detached from the glued binding. Niccolai and Spatola provide an introductory essay into concrete and visual poetry as follows: "The formulas "concrete" poetry and "visual" poetry are the most widepread in the world but they are only the tip of an iceberg up of at least a hundred definitions, for example: evident poetry, elementary poetry, gestural poetry, symbiotic poetry, ideographic poetry, spatial poetry, artificial poetry, casual poetry and so on.
