Biography

Fort Dodge, Iowa native Donald J. Mitchell (1914-1975) graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law. In 1939, he began practicing law in Fort Dodge. He was the Fort Dodge city attorney from 1951 through 1974. Mitchell was very active in the Democratic Party. He served as the Democratic National Committeeman from Iowa for fifteen years, and was on the committee's executive board from 1963 to 1968.
